Fabu Fashion: Shower Power.

Hey, y’all. Y’all good?

It’s been a while since we chatted about style and clothes. Probably because none of us really dressed up for the past 2 or so years? Could be.

This past weekend, we had a bridal shower for a good friend of mine. Here’s what I wore…

…But wait: why couldn’t I figure out what to wear to this thing? I first thought, a dress will always work. That’s the bridal shower look. But since Texas stays Texasing, it was 40 degrees this past Saturday, which, after a few days of 70-80 degree weather, was disrespectful. So, I canned the idea of a dress and then having to pair it with tights. Briefly, I thought about a dress, no tights and going bare-legged, but: no. I wither in any kind of coldness (which is why I moved here, but there are a few months when Texas is colder than the DC area. Make it make sense).

So, I headed over to my boo thing, Marshall’s, to find something. I was going for chic and colorful.

The photo is cropped since another friend was in the pic and I only share myself on TSP unless given consent.

The look: those pants pulled me over immediately. My kingdom for fuchsia and polka dots. A woman in the store saw me looking at them and was like, you need those pants in your life. The sweater, with those appliqués down the arm, called out to me, as well. Threw on some booties, my necklaces and earrings, and we were good to go.

As far as makeup, in order of application:

  • ELF matte primer
  • Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear (aka the best foundation of all time; my shade is 450)
  • Fenty matte lippie (can’t remember the name)
  • essence – Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara
  • Matte finishing spray

A fun time was had.

How was your weekend?
